Tour Description:

Mombacho Volcano is located a few minutes away from Granada and about an hour away from Managua. On this tour you will be able to see the beauty of the nature and feel the adrenaline from the zip line adventure. After picking you up from your hotel, we will drive to the Mombacho volcano Natural Reserve. Once here, we will switch from your regular vehicle to a 4x4 and drive all the way to the top of the volcano. After driving half an hour, we are ready to walk around one of the dormant crater of Mombacho Volcano, and enjoy the breathtaking views that overlook Lake Nicaragua, the city of Granada and the Islets of Granada. After hiking around this cloud forest, we will drive back to Hacienda El Progreso, the place where we gear up and fly above the trees, for an incredible experience. We will then enjoy a succulent lunch followed by one of the best cup of coffee at the Mombacho Volcano. Once finished, settle in for the drive back, with drop-off to your hotel.

2. Colonial Granada & Boat Ride on Lake Nicaragua

After your pick up from your Hotel, we will drive straight to the city of Granada. Once there, we will start this tour full of history visiting the main Plaza, which is the heart and soul of Granada. Here you will see the Local Granadinos hanging around to talk about their daily life. We will then visit La Casa de los Leones cultural center, which holds the oldest entrance of Granada. Then to continue with this cultural tour, we will visit the San Francisco museum and convent to witness the pre-Columbian statues which dated before Columbus Day. We will also visit the Ceramic museum, probably the biggest one in Nicaragua which has over 6 thousand pieces. La Merced church await for us to go up to the tower and enjoy one of the best views in town. 3. Cerro Negro Volcano

Climb Nicaragua’s youngest volcano, but not the least impressive, since this volcano allows you to experience a unique activity: Volcano boarding. First enjoy a moderate hike to the top of this volcano, before descending it by sliding down on a customized board.

Tour Description:

We will pick you up at your hotel in Mangua and drive around one hour and 15 minutes to Leon. Once at the entrance of Leche Cuajos (Leon), we will drive one more hour passing by rural Leon, where we can observe the way the campesinos live. Once we reach the bottom of the volcano, the adrenaline starts to pump as we see the black hill awaiting for us. The climb is not that hard, and once on top we will have a fantastic view of Los Maribios Volcanic chain. On a clear day, we can even see the pacific of Nicaragua. The descent of Cerro Negro is quite unique as we will slide down on a customized boards, either sitting down or standing on the boards.

5. Colonial León & San Jacinto Volcanic Mud Pools

This day tour takes you back in time to visit the ruins of Old Leon City, the first capital of Nicaragua founded by the Spanish in 1524. Later we will visit new Leon city, with its astonishing Cathedral recently nominated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Ruben Dario Museum, Ortiz-Gurdian Art Gallery, and the San Jacinto Mud pools, witness of the volcanic activity of the Maribios volcanic chain.

 After leaving your hotel, we will drive to the Masaya Volcano, the most active volcano in Nicaragua. Here we can see petrified lava, sulfur dioxide coming out of the main crater, long tailed green parakeets leaving the walls of the volcano, impressive views of Momotombo Volcano, Lake Managua, and the Masaya Crater Lake. After Masaya Volcano, we will drive a short ride to the city of Masaya, where we will visit the Art & Craft Market. We will pick you up early in the morning at your hotel and drive through the picturesque Veggie and fruit Market of Sebaco, the green Rice paddies at San Isisdro, and the fields of Estelí, full of Tobacco. When we arrive to the entrance of the Canyon, it is time to switch clothes and get ready to hike. First walk for about a half a mile entering into this colossus and then take a small boat to travel through the Canyon until it gets narrow. From here, we will continue by swimming in the cool water. Our way back will be as easy as getting in, but the journey does not finish here since we will stop at the picturesque village of Somoto to buy the famous Rosquillas.
